My Looms

So seized by this new form of expression, I've been in search of tools and possibilities. No one responded to my requests for an old bicycle wheel, hula hoop, CDs or embroidery hoops, but between Amazon and eBay, I'm now resourced.
Not to mention that my specs were wonderfully well met by this made for me wood loom.

Shown are
8.25" cardboard looms
10.25" painted cardboard looms and embroidery hoop with pink warp
12" custom made wood loom with yellow weaving in progress
14" wood embroidery hoop
18" floral frame (green)
19" metal macrame ring
23" wood quilting hoop

The 8.25 yielded a 5" piece

Indepence Day Circle in a Circle

Inspired by the gorgeous work of weaver Gloria McRoberts,
http://gloriamcroberts.com/index.php?option=com_phocagallery&view=category&id=1&Itemid=59&limitstart=9
I stayed up all night working on creating a circle within a circle. It was hard to warp, but I figured it out.

I've been working in blue to create works for my brother, whose first and second favorite colors are blue. He's got a new home and more space, so I see these as works that can be massed or separated... he can play with the arrangement. This gestures toward our shared from childhood love of science fiction.
